John brings his passion for perfection into everything he does, including hand loading a wide variety of mainstream and novelty cartridges. FAQ’s
What is the turnaround time for this service?
There are several factors that come into play depending on what is in stock and what must be ordered to fulfill your request. John will provide an estimated turnaround time with the quote. General guidance is 1-4 weeks.
Are there any calibers you don’t load?
John does not currently handle shotgun loads or small caliber (such as .22 and .17).
Will custom loads be less expensive?
Usually you aren’t going to save money purchasing custom loads, but from time to time you will. If you return your brass to John it lowers the cost over time, and some obscure or harder-to-get rounds can be made cheaper than you can find online.
Do you use new or once fired brass in your loads?
For customers we will always use new brass for the first order. If you decide to return the brass after firing, John will re-use it and the cost will decrease accordingly.
I have brass laying around that I would like to have reloaded. Can I send it to you?
We are open to this, but there are some liability concerns that require you to sign a waiver if we use brass we haven’t sourced.
What kinds of loads have you done in the past?
John has loaded most of the mainstream calibers (9mm, .357, .223, .300BO etc.) in addition to less popular calibers such as .280AI, 38-55, 300 HAMR, and .45LC.
Can you load subsonic rounds?
Absolutely!
Does Big John ever smile?
Infrequently, but people swear they have witnessed it!
What will I receive with my order?
You will receive ballistics data and cartridges in a reusable case.
